Summary:碩士 === 臺北巿立體育學院 === 運動科學研究所 === 93 === The purpose of this study is to examine the golf sports motivation of the Taiwanese universities students, and the difference between the golf-related behaviors and demographic variables. The results of this study then become the blue print and provide suggestions for the golf classes in the universities in Taiwan in the future. The method used in this study is questionnaire investigation. The total number of samples is 892, which was collected from 11 universities stratified randomly selected from different regions of Taiwan. The findings of this study are as followed: 1) Most of the subjects lived in the northern part of Taiwan, major in commercial-related field, age ranging from 20 to 22 years old, and doesn’t work or have a job (including part-time job). 2) The majority of the participants doesn’t own their own golf clubs, doesn’t know their own handicap, started to play golf for less than 6 months, goes to driving range 4 or more times a month, and have never played on a golf course. 3) The major source of media that the subjects receive their golf-related information is television media. When comes to searching for golf-related information, the subjects of this study ‘rarely’ search golf related information on printed media (newspaper and magazine), ‘sometimes’ search golf related information on broadcast media (TV) , ‘rarely’ search golf related information on the internet media. 4) Gender had significant difference on ‘leisure and relaxation related’ and ‘status and image related’ dimensions. When compared with previous studies, the significant found on the former dimension were similar with the golf sports participation motivation studies, and the significant found on the latter dimension were similar with the universities students sport participation motivation studies. 5) The different grades in university were found not significant on all of the golf sports participation motivation dimensions. 6) The students with different house monthly income were found significant on all of the golf sports participation motivation dimensions. 7) The students that has a job (including part-time) were found significant on all of the golf sports participation motivation dimensions.
