The researcher discusses female identity in marriage and further explores the conflict between the expectations on women from the traditional virtues and the needs of modern women themselves. The study is trying to help married women discover their roles that are suitable in the current society. The study is divided into 5 chapters as follows: 1. This chapter describes the motivation, purpose, research method, structure, and the key words in this study. 2. This chapter includes the current researches related to the study, including the expectations on women from the traditional virtues, the psychological research on female roles, and the attack of the so-called “traditional values” built by men from the perspective of feminism. It also collects the art works related to married women from female artists. 3. This chapter records how the search is developed, including its basic concept, the incentive, the content, and the main idea, hoping to help married women find a clear identity. 4. The chapter includes the artworks from the researcher and the explanation of each piece. The artworks consist of the following three serials – newly married, conflict, and balance. 5. This is the conclusion of the research and artworks. The researcher intends to point out the conflict of values in the society and also find a balance for women and the researcher herself.
