It focuses on the benefits that can be gained through cooperation how to manage the cooperation as to realize them. A cooperative strategy can offer significant advent- ages for companies which are lacking in particular competences or resources to secure these through links with others possessing complementary skills or assets; it may also easier access to new markets, and opportunities for mutual synergy and learning. Due to the fast change of the environment over the past two decades, a single corporation is limited in its usable resources in that many problems are encountered during the fast changing process and couldn’t internalize the problem under the pressure of time and space. Facing this, the corporation would have to solve the problem by appealing to external solutions. As such, they need to seek cooperation with one or more than one corporations and so the cooperative strategy pursuing corporation profit and growth target has been widely emphasized and adopted by modern corporations. In pursuing a cooperative strategy, the strategic alliance is a kind of organization pattern through the corporation cooperation for obtaining complementary resources. In this way, the member of the alliance can focus on its core professionalism to create value for the company through the input and linking of resources between partnerships. In addition, the cooperative strategy can enhance the strategic flexibility and accelerate the organization’s learning speed for the corporation to implement the organizational flexibility advantage learned from the cooperative strategy upon facing a fast changing environment and save the cost required for starting up the new business while enhancing the ability and speed in learning new skills between partners. As a result, the corporation members of an alliance can share the overall effect in aspects of R&D, manufacturing, channel, sales and advertising in creating value for the corporation. Based on the above, stated below is the purpose of this research: A. To summarize the corporate strategy motivation for the railway signaling industry in Taiwan. B. To extract the selection criteria of corporate strategy partners for the railway signaling industry in Taiwan. C. To understand the effect of corporate strategy motivation on the selection criteria of corporative strategy partners. D. To understand the relations between the key successful factors of industry, the competitive advantages and the corporative strategy partner selection.
