In Taiwan many patients have been undergone endoscopic procedures each year. A virtual reality simulation system of endoscope is thus needed for training young and inexperienced interns so as to be familiarized with the endoscopic system before being a real practitioner. Such an endoscopic simulation system may improve significantly the medical procedure quality and patient safety. Interface devices used in this virtual endoscopic system are to be designed based on realistic operation conditions, and are composed of two parts, namely, mechanisms and associated electric circuits. In the mechanism design, a mock bronchus endoscope and a throat interface are designed. The mock bronchus endoscope has similar shape and size as the real bronchus endoscope while the throat interface is simulating the state of hose into the bronchus. The designed mechanical devices are then manufactured using CNC machine tool. In the electric circuit design, a microchip is used as a microprocessor control unit, in which programming including man-machine interface are coded. The rotary potentiometers and encoders for measuring respective rotational and translation motions are used. Three switch buttons for picture taking, water spraying, and larynx position opening are also included, in addition to the usage of electromagnetic valve for force feedback. Finally, all signals from these various sensors are sent to a computer via the series port for virtual reality simulation of endoscopic system. 蕭俊祥 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 65 zh-TW |
