While Petrochemical industry often makes high pollution that is not good impression for people. Many countries have been developing “Eco-Industrial Park” for environmental protection in recent years. From the experiences of developing countries, it is understood that “Eco-Industrial Park” has many advantages such as improving environmental quality, effectively recycling resources, reducing the wastes and reaching the aims of full recycling and zero waste. Besides, it can also improve industrial ecology and reach the goals of economizing energy and sustainable development. In consideration of this, Formosa Plastics Group (FPG) is gradually establishing the No. 6 Naphtha Cracker Industrial Park as an Eco-Industrial Park from the experience of environmental protection. This enterprise continues proceeding resources, useful wastes recycling and lower environmental load, in order to enhance international competitiveness, improving bad impression that Petrochemical industry is the high pollution industry, and hope to make the most advanced industry with parallel strides in environmental protection and economic development. This dissertation is a study on establishing the petrochemical industrial park as an eco-industrial park, and by case of No. 6 Naphtha Cracker Eco-Industrial Park from the experience of planning and executing by FPG. It is expected to create a eco-industrial performance index to fit for the petrochemical industrial park, and also be able to use in other industrial park.
