The construction of transmission system should be expanded dependently. In summer, the demands are dramatically increasing at peak hours and the transmission system may encounter the possible problem of overload. How to evaluate and assess the transmission capacity of power line in advance is an important matter for any dispatcher. In this paper, the fuzzy assessment system is proposed to manage the meteorological factors to the effectiveness of ampacity of overhead power lines. The uncertainty in the weather conditions, temperature and wind velocity, are well managed by the fuzzy set theory. Using the arithmetic of fuzzy number, the possibility distribution of the ampacity of a transmission line can be conducted. The relevant weather data among the recent six years in Tainan were used to evaluate the proposed system. Compared with the results of Monte Carlo simulation, the possibility distribution of ampacity shows a high similarity but with a less computing time. The proposed transmission ampacity assessment system was implemented by MATLAB. With the same testing data, the feasibility has assessed by the commercial software package Rate kit, the error is below 1%. Jeeng-Min Ling 凌拯民 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 64 zh-TW
