Summary:碩士 === 南台科技大學 === 電子工程系 === 93 === Gamma correction is an essential function in every display device, such as CRTs, plasma TVs, and TFT LCDs. In this thesis, a new gamma correction architecture of the source drive IC used in the TFT LCD is proposed. Instead of using non-linear DAC architecture, a linear DAC architecture is used to reduce the number of resistors required. The complexity of our design is also reduced due to less resistors. Moreover, the proposed design is capable of supporting different gamma values from 2.2 to 2.5 without any extra cost. In short,the proposed gamma correction design possesses several advantages which make it a better alternative.
