That means a good art museum system that is open and accessible is key to improving society's artistic level. These years museums and art museums have been valued so much in Taiwan that all kinds of theme museum have been established one by one. It is a good sign that Taiwanese society not only focuses on economic development but also pays attention to the improvement of culture and art. However, though average art museums try to be more open and attractive to visitors, there are still problems that are difficult to solve, such as guides for children. Usually, children themselves don't have enough basic art knowledge and museums often lack good hardware or software for kids, which reduce the attractiveness of such museums. Therefore, some people had a different solution to this problem. They established children's art museums. Taiwan's art museums are just in the early stages, so far there are only four museums as follows; Kaoshiung Children’s Creative Museum, Soho Children’s Art Museum, Da Yu Elementary School Children’s Art Museum and National Taiwan Children’s Gallery. This thesis tries to discuss deeply and analyze those four museums present status and future development, and also compare them with other art museums in order to think more about the efficiency of mass art education for children and the possibility of future development. The thesis is divided to following five chapters: Chapter 1 Introduction: Describe the search motive, purpose, way, range and so on. Chapter 2 Literature Review: The main purpose is to define different kinds of museums, understand the condition of exhibition and guide in Taiwan’s museums, state the link between children art museum and art education, discuss all art education in Taiwan’s museums which are the basis of the following chapters. Chapter 3 Present conditions and development of Taiwan’s Children art museum: Describe the conception and development of Taiwan Children art museum. Investigate and analyze the samples of four museums above. Chapter 4 Discuss education activities of Children art museum: Analyze and compare the educational activities and guide service of those four museums to see their objectives, difference and diligence for young visitors. Chapter 5 Conclusion and comments: Comment on the development of Taiwan’s children art museums and think more deeply about mass museums’ service for children and any possibility of development in the future.
