That means, there exists a kind of “light literary” which has more pictures than words and a concept of “light reading” to against the traditional reading behavior. Therefore, reading of picture book is becoming the exercises of citizens, and publishing of picture book is also becoming the major tendency in the book industry of Taiwan. To catch up with Jimmy's works of picture book and to share the profits of picture book, there are more and more new hands and publishers join this market. In that condition, the volumes of publishing and selling are both growing up every year obviously. It's evident that picture book not only can create the moving experiences of visual graphics and writing letters to gather those readers, called picture reading generation, who are used to reading pictures or graphics and against the using of serious words, but also can extend the consumption of books marketing. In the other way, from children to adults, form local creations to international translations, the works of picture book in Taiwan have completely absorbed the essence of European, American and Japan, and have build up an active environment to work on picture book. That means, no matter to promotion our creations to universal or to bring internationals in Taiwan, it will be involved with the issues of copyright, license, and brokerage, not to mention the appearances of professional agent. Therefore, this study is going to discuss the relationships among the key persons or parties concerned in the production process of picture book, including the creator, the publisher, the agency and the author's agent. Also discuss the interaction between agents and publishers while selling the copyright across the countries, and the business models of license and brokerage. That is, this study wants to explain the presentation of picture book, which defined by the creators and publishers, to understand the production of picture book in the different ways, and to define the relationship and the orientations among the creator, the publisher, the agency, and the author's agent. And the final results indicate that picture book is using the pictures to tell about a series of stories and is one kind of narrow sense of the pictures and words book. Both of the familiarities of creators and the authorities of publishers will affect the production process of the picture book. As concerning the value of picture book, the creator is based on his own creativity, but the publisher pays more attention on the possible selling profits on the marketing. According to the international policy, the agency's profits come from the commission of 10%, which paid by the seller sides. And that the author's agent should be more focus on the license and brokerage at the subsidiary rights of author’s creations, especially those creative elements of pictures.
