Kuo(2001) found the frequency of disastrous earthquake follows negative binomial distribution. Based on Kuo’s find and the simplificative assumption of independence between the number of disastrous earthquake in a year and the loss severity resulting from disastrous earthquake, we estimate the possible loss severity of disastrous earthquake through statistical method. Through the above-mentioned steps, we simulate the annual cumulative losses from disastrous earthquake to explore the impacts on the insurance rate of different levels of deductibles and limits and to introduce the possible maximum losses of disastrous earthquake from the prospective of extreme value theory. none 吳君誠 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 32 en_US
