Description
Summary:碩士 === 東吳大學 === 商用數學系 === 93 === Abstract According the actual data of earthquake insurance from a local insurance company in insurance amount, deductible, and claim expense, we estimate the possible annual cumulative losses resulting from earthquake. Kuo(2001) found the frequency of disastrous earthquake follows negative binomial distribution. Based on Kuo’s find and the simplificative assumption of independence between the number of disastrous earthquake in a year and the loss severity resulting from disastrous earthquake, we estimate the possible loss severity of disastrous earthquake through statistical method. Through the above-mentioned steps, we simulate the annual cumulative losses from disastrous earthquake to explore the impacts on the insurance rate of different levels of deductibles and limits and to introduce the possible maximum losses of disastrous earthquake from the prospective of extreme value theory.
