| Summary: | 碩士 === 東吳大學 === 音樂學系 === 93 === In the globalized world of information transmission at ultra high-speed, I, the composer am aware of current music phenomenon and self-criticize that the necessary of original creation and the way of facing the traditions of aesthetics. In addition, through expressions of the personalism and egotism conceitedly, the confrontation and fusion of ideas, how the phenomenon affects my creation will be deep sought. The following articles are about to research.
Deriving form some certain side of Post-Modernism, Totalism appears in 90’s of contemporary American music history, which exists only about a decade, hence, defining its style and future evolution is really hard to tell. I was struggled to obtain a decent view to discuss this topic, however, being a composer, is not allowed to escape from facing this challenge, furthermore, have to involve deeper in what the sociality and humanity phenomenon affects. Via this, it drives me to think the new direction of creation and causing my curiosity attempt to research the various aspects of our generation.
I will talk about Post-Modernism’s phenomenon in Chapter II, discuss its effects in music styles; discuss Totalism’s style in Chapter III and how does it stem and fuse in multi-materials, at last, deliberate the influence of self-creation.
Meanwhile, I composed the orchestral work “City and Memories”, in which I attempted to demonstrate a continuous pulse like the streaming of memories. On the way of expression, trying to approach a direction to syncretize multi-materials and observe the intention and meaning of self-creation.
It is an issue to synchronize different music factors to state a single purpose. I wish to find out an equilibrium of inner-thought and outer-construction.
