Business operation in securities industry is significantly impacted by the fast change financial market. Thanks to the policy of financial in 2001 ,there are 14 financial stock-holder companies. This, along with the depressive economic environment, trapped the local financial companies in business operation. To develop a sound financial system and to boost the ability to fight in the fierce battle after joining WTO, Taiwan (local) authorities has sped up open policies and system transformation process. In the meantime, financial executives also find business management strategies fine-tune and business performance improvements have turned out to be their critical issues to study.
Branch managers devote to the performance evaluation, hope to find out the advantages and weakness of theirs to enhance their ability in competition by reducing cost, increasing productivity and improving efficiency.
Here in Taiwan, researches focus mainly on the evaluation of cost efficiency; few to discuss the factors affect the operation performance, such as the director, the belonged and the scale of branches. By applying multivariate statistical analysis, this study implements the director, the belonged and the scale of branches of the sample securities “ W” as independent variables while treating business performance indicator (average balance, average market share, average finance) and risk management indicator of its 35 branches islanded from year 2002 to 2004 as dependent variables, to explore the relationship between self and circumstantial variables. Findings are:
1. Director of branches has significant affect on business performance indicator and has little correlation risk management indicator.
2. Belonged of branches has little correlation with business performance indicator and risk management indicator.
3. Scale of branches relates highly to business performance indicator and has little correlation risk management indicator.
