Dehydrocoupling of Methanol to Methyl Formate over Activated Carbon Fibers-supported Copper(II) Complexes Catalysts

碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 應用化學研究所 === 93 === Metal ion exchanged activated carbon fibers (M/ACF) were used as catalysts, when the ACF containing Cu2+、Fe3+、Ni2+、Ag+ shows a activity for dehydrocoupling of methanol to methyl formate, and the activity of Cu2+-ACF is better than others. Cu2+ ions in Cu2+-ACF cata...

Cu2+ ions in Cu2+-ACF catalyst were modified with NH3、en、pn、dien、EDTA…ligands to product copper complexes. Only when the copper complexes which UV absorb wavelength shows 623~822nm, the catalysts shows the activity. The UV absorb of Cu(en)2 and Cu(pn)2 is 548 and 580nm, respectively, shows no activity, but when changes the ratio of Cu2+ to ligands let the UV absorb wavelength increase to 700nm, the catalyst shows the activity. The conversion was 50.1% and MF selectivity was 91.8% when the reaction temperature is 573K. Pretreatment temperature affects the catalyst activity strongly, the Cu(en)0.52+/ACF activity drops rapidly at 770K, and Cu(NH3)42+/ACF at 630K. On the other hand, Cu(EOA)42+/ACF did not show the catalyst activity, but the catalyst activity increase step by step with pretreatment temperature. Copper complexes with different ligands show TPD peaks at different temperature, respectively, indicant that the complexes have different heat stability, and ligands play an important role in catalyst activity.
