In the past, due to the limitation of already-run Legacy System, users often could not achieve their expected goals. Then with the progress of technology, there has been also a great deal of changes in the framework of software field as well as hardware field. For the design of POS system , it is changed from solo simple registering function into reference for decision-making process. In the past, the software system was less advanced not only in the lack of complete files records but also in the lack of keeping relevant maintenance ability which led into high expense of maintenance cost in general. On the other hand, if we choose to re-develop new software, the result could be like leading us into expensive cost and we are not so sure of whether we are taking complete replacement for the already-run system or not. This is the issue which puts enterprises into dilemma.
In this thesis, I (the author) take advantage of Software Reengineering concept to examine the already-run POS system and trace back to its original design framework in reconstructive method, then through Evolutionary Prototyping Model system to upgrading it. I ( the author ) try to use 3-Tiers functional software system to develop while ensure the new demands through interviewing which was based on the original framework system. In this method, I ( the author ) intend to enhance the expension, flexibility and repetition of the system while keeping down the time and cost of developing new software system
