碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 青少年兒童福利研究所 === 93 === This study applies qualitative research methods to investigate the experience of transferring between the multi-roles of married primary female teachers. The aims of the research are to realize the life situation of married primary female teachers, and to study how they manage effectively their multiple roles in society and family. The research data are collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews. The research objects are 7 married primary female teachers living with parents-in-law and children. After interviewing all the participants, the tape-recorded data were written as verbatim transcriptions. Furthermore, the thematic analysis was used to identify and clarify the themes. The research results are discussed in 5 topics: （a） “The dilemma of women’s multiple roles” shows the conflicting roles that married elementary school female teachers play in daily life, （b） “The endless house works” describes the married elementary school female teachers’ heavy-duty daily chores,（c） “Parental pressure” indicates that married elementary school female teachers endure higher parental pressure than parents in other professions,（d） “Job pressure” explains married elementary school female teachers’ pressure in work fields, （e） “Pressure adaptation” points out the strategies that married elementary school female teachers use to adjust their emotions. The researcher suggests that future studies can: （a） classify the husband’s job in order to understand whether husband’s background will influence the stereotype of female teacher, （b）. include husbands as research objects to study male life experiences and how they perceive multi-role conflict, （c） select female teachers from different school levels such as high school and college to compare the correlation between their social roles and family roles.
