Summary: | 碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 西班牙語文學系研究所 === 93 === The present thesis includes six chapters, which mainly discuss the education for happiness in Emile of Rousseau and El si de las ninas of Moratin.
Chapter One introduces the research motive, aims, and three primary hypothesis proposed for the present thesis: 1) Does the Enlightenment movement affect the human thought and the education policy? 2) Is there any common consensus on the education for happiness in Rousseau’s Emily and Moratin’s El si de las ninas? 3) Are the suggestions about education for happiness proposed by the two authors suitable for the modern society?
Chapter Two generally recounts the development of the Enlightenment movement in France and Spain, its influence on the education for happiness. In the last section of this chapter, we investigate how Rousseau’s ideas impact the Enlightenment movement and his influence upon his successors.
Chapter Three presents the progression of literary thought in the XVIII century, which is divided into the Post-Baroque Period, the Neoclassical Period, and the Pre-Romantic Period. In this chapter, I also identify the status of Moratin in literary history and define its influence on the modern drama.
Chapter Four, deals with the meaning of happiness and I analyzed it in the play, El si de las ninas. Chapter Five discusses the education for happiness through the related issues, such as authority, freedom, truth, or falsehood. Chapter Six presents the conclusion of this thesis.
Happiness and education are very important issues nowadays and are related to our life and civilization closely. By this research in my thesis, I expect to offer a useful methodology on the education for happiness.
