| Summary: | 碩士 === 靜宜大學 === 中國文學研究所 === 93 === Tan beng-jin, whose most works were published in “Tai-bn bong p” and were published in “A-chhn” and “pha-hng k±-s” two selected works on 1998 and 2000. He created a lot of poems, ballads, novels, dramas by using Taiwanese language and promoted Taiwanese language movement actively since 1985. In his novel, use Han-Romanized form in Taiwanese language written, most describes were land, people and story in Taiwan during 1950~1960, so it has keeps a lot of Taiwanese vocabularies and oral saying in animals or plants, and a lots of Taiwanese experience in life, too. It really reaches to“my handwritten my mouth”. He also had postmodernism style and anti-colonial power to fight Chinese Culture Hegemony.
Taiwanese image and values is my probing cores in this thesis, which sum up and analyze from “ A-chhn”and “pha-hng k±-s”. According to the roles, behaviors and psychological conditions to constructing the Taiwanese typical image of different social level belong to fifty to sixty eras. Taiwanese image often explained to be uncivilized and vulgar by Chinese Culture Hegemony. In Taiwan , “Taiwanese who speaks Taiwanese language”were be uglified in mass media: TV, film, magazines, …etc. On the contrary, in Tan beng-jin’s Taiwanese novel, he describes “Taiwanese who speaks Taiwanese language”with human nature care and benevolence.He describes Taiwanese heartfelt wishes of society bottom. He also got back Taiwanese kindheartedness, the basic dignity of human, and builds Taiwanese with brightly image. Because it has very strong picture structure in his novel, every role and scene were vivid. In the chapter four, use peasant’s image to contract the concreting image of the early Taiwanese artist’s works, in order to elucidate literature and art each other. The personality and character of Taiwanese image make them become the literature archetypal person of Taiwanese Literature.
About“Taiwanese values”, select to find out marriage-love point, people-land point, money- moral point, fate-religion point during 50-60 gengration from the novel. Classical agricultural society of Taiwan has its own values, but in modern society living condition and environment were changed, many values also different. Through the social change, we can compare the change of Taiwanese values and find out what values are worth keeping and seeking. For example, from authority marriage change into bravely pursuit one’s own happiness. About Land point, the relation between early Taiwanese and land are linked closely had changed to destroyedand estranged,its should return to respect, gentle, observe justice and kindness attitude to land. About Money-moral points were changed from “make most of things” to “money is everything”. About fate-religion poin,Taiwanese need “working hardly attitude“to control his own life. Finally, analyze the literature characteristic of Tan beng-jin’s novel as conclusion, incoulding peiple’s history of Taiwan, geography of Taiwan, Taiwanese language, etc. .It’s construct unique aesthetics belong to Taiwanese language novel, showing the necessary of Taiwanese language symbolized and constructing Taiwanese culture.
