Through challenging traditions of the Academics and analyzing the dynamic social and cultural environment, Impressionists formed their own views and perspectives. On one hand, they emphasized on faithful expression of light and color and an open heart to Nature; and on the other hand, they averted simple reproduction of images and created more freely. However, Impressionism’s pursuit of the natural and graceful beauty of simplicity and tranquility has been overlooked in our studies. In the author’s opinion, it is exactly one of the starting points to reach the essence of Impressionist paintings. So in this essay a new angle for the study of Impressionism is put forward. Impressionists stressed more on inner charms than the capture of light and color. And this was especially true for Sisley, a lightly regarded Impressionist landscape artist, whose works could always arouse pure and poetic feelings in people. Extending the deep analysis of Sisley to that of all the Impressionist, we will find that they broke the chains of traditional style and attached great importance to the sentiments and feelings in life, they discarded the blind reproduction of objects and pay more attention to the conveying of meanings, they used the image-emphasized traditional aesthetic concept of the East to alter the single-line development of Western art, and they laid stress on the creating of artistic conception and the natural and graceful beauty. This great change in artistic language and concept stimulated various new developing trends in Impressionists. Though the Impressionist movement now belonged to the past with its rebelling color faded along, and the studies on Impressionism seemed to be fixed within certain frames, through more inner exploration, it is still possible for us to dig out new sources. The foundation date in this thesis are mainly collected from Sisley Richard Shone。 Dr.Sheu Kuen-Cherng Dr.Ueng Meei-Er 許坤成 翁美娥 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 128 zh-TW |
