Summary:碩士 === 中國文化大學 === 資訊管理研究所 === 93 === Along with the prosperity of internet, the museums set up the digital archives systems on the Client-Server architecture in order to have the function of digital demonstration, digital collection,…etc., and serve users to acquire the digital archives messages conveniently. However, due to the amount of data are increasing and application functions are more and more diversified, therefore, it should need a new architecture to solve the requirements. The functions of information systems on Grid architecture are resources (such as computing and storage) sharing, collaborative processing, reliable and secure connection, etc. Little was done to address the digital archives systems on Grid architecture. In this study, we construct a digital archives system on the Grid architecture. It can not only store and demonstrate the digital archives by multimedia data, but also promote performance of the digital archives system. There are two subsystems in the digital archives system saying digital collection subsystem, and digital demonstration subsystem. The functions of digital collection subsystem are store and update of multimedia data and its related information such as titles, type, description…etc. The functions of digital demonstration subsystem are based on users’ selections to provide the most fast multimedia data from digital archives and its related information to users. Via analyzing the 3D multimedia demonstration performance of digital archives system on Client-Server architecture and Grid architecture, we have that the digital archives system on Grid architecture is superior than on Client-Server architecture.
