Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 設計研究所 === 93 === Both Web and PC electronic maps use the same computer screen to display, yet they are operated on two different platforms to transmit geographical information. A navigational system can help the user to quickly search for targets in huge and complicated geographical data. The user can also find great pleasure through smooth operational procedures and vivid information display in navigational interaction. This research selected two electronic maps as samples: the TAIWAN Map and the PaPaGo! V5. By quasi-experimental observation, questionnaire evaluation and interviews, the functional, procedural, searching and emotional differences of the two navigational systems were cross-examined. Finally, the results were analyzed and the required functions and items of a navigational system were concluded. The results are as follows. (1) The PC map is better than the Web map in the task completion time, the number of movement and the searching efficiency. But only the time is significant and may be influenced by the speed of network transmission. There is no significance in movement and efficiency. (2) The PC map outperforms the Web map in subjective evaluation of navigational design, operability and satisfaction. (3) The GUI (Graphical User Interface) design of the PC map can provide the user with more smooth interaction and a pleasing navigational environment.
