The cooling system consists of a flat evaporator with wick structure inside, a tube-and-fin condenser, and two connecting tubes between evaporator and condenser. The connecting tubes are transparent silicon tubes which can be used for flow pattern observation. Water is used as the working fluid. The cooling system is charactered by a parametric study which determined the effect of charging capacity, the tilt angle of the system on the thermal performance of the closed loop. Experimental data show that the system has optimal performance under vertical operating condition with 22cc water charging capacity.
