Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 管理研究所 === 93 === Firms must create their added value and competitive advantage via continuous innovation. Thus Research and Development is important for enterprises. This study aim to offer a mold of R&D and innovation for small firms’ reference by case study and references verified. It is found from studying the references that R&D is a form of innovation and essence of innovation is how to apply knowledge effectively. Despite limit resources, small firms can have knowledge via cooperate with universities and institutes. Effective R&D activities must be hold in an organization with innovation culture and flexible structure. The small firm of the case study is a young company which is engaging in R&D and producing for equipments of Hydrogen generator for Fuel Cell as energy. To cooperate with universities, it is economy for the firm to use information system and R&D human resources and it is an advantage for recruiting R&D people and applying projects from government.
