Abstract
Art originates in life. Due to different time and space and different thinking art has got different interpretations. The writer’s ardent love of the earth and great
concern for Mother Nature, just like that of post-modernistic thinking, deems that
human beings should make profound retrospection of and show deep concern over the
natural environments they are living upon The special geographical views, together
with the seasonal changes attract the writer’s concern and interest, deeming it as a
medium of experimentation and exploration in black-and-white drawing. At the same
time, I could also somewhat express my personal feelings towards the land and my
tespect of life
Looking at the development of the landscape paintings from the vertical point
of point of view and also from the horizontal view-point of their deep contents
analysis, the outstanding forefathers of ours, almost without any exceptions, have very
much to do with their profound exploring of their actual life and culture. Although
sketches are not everything of their life, yet they are the best means of their creations.
It is only through sketchings that the painters are enabled to have a better
understanding of Mother Nature and have an infurung (情景交融) into Her, which is
a big challenge for the Writer to explore deeply, which is also the main axis of the
painter’s in his idea of creation.
The geological features of ”the Moon’s World” belong to that of the blue cretaceous, commonly called ‘the bad geometry of chalk soil”, with a very high PH value With no plants growing upon it, and while it rains, if will become a world of mud and when it is dry it will turn into a world of stones. In addition to all these, due to over human explorations, it presents all the sharp and pointed hilltops all bare and looking ugly. Situated in such surroundings, you feel as if you were placed in a fantastic. cold world. Within the area, with the seasonal changes of the colors of the surrounding, thorny bamboos, in addition to the their changing colors at the sunrise and the sunset, the whole forest turning into a fantastic, mystifying labyrinthian world. It is only though deep observations and explorations that we are able to catch its outside features. The Writer just hopes that through his incessant explorations by means of the black-and-white drawings, by absorbing whatever the preceding painters having done and then turning it into a brand-new creation a new life as well as a new interpretation of the whole surroundings of ”the Moon’s World” could be represented.
