Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 造形藝術研究所 === 93 === Environment is the primary viewpoint in this paper which is concerned with the effects on the styles of ceramic works. The main research methods applied in this study are quantitative analysis, literature review, interview and qualitative analysis. According to the data index of quantitative analysis, three ceramists were sieved as case study objectives: Hui-Fen Deng, Yung-Hsu Hsu and Yung-Kuo Cheng. The analysis to transitional factors of the work-styles was obtained through cross analysis to the internal characters and external contents of ceramic works. The internal characters include background and perspective of artists. The external contents include form, clay, technique, decoration, glaze and firing of ceramic works. The main conclusions from the results of these case study objectives are as below:
1. The styles of ceramic works were influenced by the artificial environment of physical environment and non-physical environment.
2. In working environment, in certain degree, the styles of ceramic works were influenced by studio space, kiln-facilities, and different kinds of clay.
3. In living environment, the styles of ceramic works were affected more or less by academic background, current thought, campus architecture and ambiance.
4. In living environment, Hui-Fen Deng and Yung-Hsu Hsu had more opportunities to go to abroad studying or visiting. Via the multiple-culture stimulation, the transition of artistic perspective and work styles is clear. The effective factors came from the different experience of city buildings, art communication, living styles, studio, and art works.
5. In internal environment, Hui-Fen Deng and Yung-Hsu Hsu were deeply influenced by the relationship of family. Though one comes from stable family relationship, the other one comes from unstable family relationship, both of their works present the conversion from the sense of rhythm to stabilization.
6. In humanistic environment, the differentiation of the influential factors in internal and external environment is huge and complicated among three ceramists. It is mainly concerned with individual character, growing up background, family relationship, life occasion, and cultivation. So the influential factors of non-physical environment on the styles of ceramic works are diverse, depending on different people. The relationship among the influential factors is also extremely complex.
These conclusions mentioned the effects of physical and non-physical environment on the styles of ceramic works. The physical environment includes campus environment, foreign environment, living environment, studio space, kiln-facilities, and different kinds of clay. The non-physical environment includes artistic character, growing up background, family relationship, life occasion and experience. The styles of works are established by the interaction of artistic perception stimulated by environment and artistic personal humanistic experience. There is a deep relationship of interaction exists between physical and non-physical environment, and therefore both of them are essential.
