In order to cope with the new environment, the government of Taiwan has set up the Financial Regulatory Committee, a new regulatory body for overseeing the financial industry and markets. The recent merger and acquisition activity among a score of Taiwan’s financial holding companies is another indication of the challenge. In addition, introducing new financial products from foreign market directly seems another way to stimulate and enhance the competitiveness of the financial industry here, and they had better be prepared when the market is fully opened to foreign players in the next few years. Life settlement is one of the latest financial products developed abroad. It’s a new product attracting attention from many investors in recent years, especially when interest rate is low. Reducing risk is one of the goals in professional investment. The following is an introduction of how to use a model of securitization to achieve relatively high rate of return and relatively low risk, the two investment goals of life settlement products.
