The literatures review, a sampling questionnaire survey、interviews were utilized for the data collection and the questionnaire “The work values of elementary school teachers and the related variables” was designed. After the analysis of the reliability and the validity, the sample questionnaires were gathered by multi-stages stratified random sampling. There were 710 teachers picked out randomly to fill up the questionnaires, and 608 valid samples (85.6%) were returned. Moreover, the researcher interviewed eight teachers from two sample schools. At last, the data was analyzed by the statistical analysis of the frequencies statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. The followings are the major conclusions in this study: 1. Elementary teachers highly respect the different aspects of work values, especially in the aspect of achievement and relations value. 2. Elementary teachers with different gender and years of service differed significantly in their work values. 3. Elementary teachers from various areas and schools differed significantly in their work values. 4. The work values of teachers have significant differences due to the school organizational atmosphere, principals’ leadership and the chances of participant decision making. Therefore, by the analysis of this study, there are fifteen recommendations about educational policies、school administrations and other relative researchers based on research results.
