After the decades of prosperous development, the electronic\ computer music has become one of the main music genres recent years. Taiwan is by no means behind this new trend. The study tried to witness the development of electronic\ computer development in Taiwan through a review of the literature as well as musical works. Also, it tried to plot the joint between the western development of music technology and the electronic\ computer music in Taiwan. The literature review included the institutes, the related studies, and activities. As a result, it also introduced the history of composition, research, and performances of electronic\computer music in Taiwan. On the other hand, through an analysis of the music characteristics and the application of computer technology, it tried to describe musical styles and features by those Taiwanese composers. The study method is a comprehensive collection and analysis through personal interview, literary compilation, and musical analysis. In the conclusion, the study proposed some concrete suggestions on how to encourage the activities of composition, performance, and research of electronic\computer music, which is now the collective burden of the universities, the Association of Computer Music, the Council for the Cultural Affairs, and the National Science Council. The study also hopes to be an invitation for future researches, providing necessary information about the institutes, the literature, the performances, the composers, and musical works.
