Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立台北師範學院 === 音樂研究所 === 93 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the identification abilities of two-part music of fifth grade students. A descriptive study was conducted. Through literature review and analysis of various elementary level music textbooks, a Two-Part Music Identification Test was developed by the researcher. This test included 16 items, two-part music, with four different accompaniment patterns: (1) melody with drone, (2) melody with Alberti bass, (3) melody with strict imitation, and (4) melody with free counterpoint. Different song melodies from music textbooks were used to develop all items. The approach of convenience sampling was used and 275 students enrolled in general music classes from three different school districts, Taipei City, Taipei County and Taoyuan County, participated in this study. Alpha coefficient, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, frequency distribution table, percentage table, and one-way ANOVA were used in the data analysis of this study. The results of the this study included: 1. The participants were able to identify the four different accompaniment patterns of two-part music. No differences of identifying four accompaniment patterns were found between and among participants. 2. The identification abilities of two-part music of the subjects were not influenced by the differences of each item’s sound volume. 3. The variable of participants involved in performance groups, such as choirs, recorder ensembles and children bands, significantly affected their identification abilities in two-part music. 4. The participants who took private lessons in music instruments did not differ significantly in their two-part identification ability from those who did not have private lessons.
