Summary: | 碩士 === 國立台北師範學院 === 自然科學教育研究所 === 93 === The topic of this study is basing on the Project-Based Instruction and Learning (PBIL) to help students learn about the stars and the sun. The purpose of this study is using the PBIL to explore: (1) the learning outcomes of students at each stage in the PBIL. (2) The effects of PBIL on the students’ learning achievements. (3) The outcomes of students’ learning attitudes through the PBIL. (4) The condition of students’ interaction in the PBIL. (5) The performance of the students’ project works.
The subject of this study was consisted of 70 fifth grade students from two classes in elementary school. 35 students were as experimental group, the others were control group. This study applied the conceptions about the stars and sun, scientific attitudes scale to instruction and examination. Analysis of covariance (ANOVA) was used to analyze the obtained from the pretest and post test. The other researching tools include: interview, learning questionnaire, teachers’ journal.
The major finding in this study is summarized as follows:
1. After being conducted the PBIL, students appeared they can make the plan of the project and collect the related information by internet and library to complete their project works.
2. After being conducted the PBIL, their learning achievements of the experimental group performed significantly better than those in the control group (F=4.460, P<.05), and also appears PBIL s able to improve the achievements of students in the science learning.
3. After being conducted the PBIL, the experimental group has performed significantly better than those in the control group in the scientific attitude scale included「the feelings about science class」(F=4.656, P<.05)「the learning motives」(F=5.734, P<.05)「the learning strategy」(F=18.055, P<.001). It also appears PBIL is able to improve the scientific attitude of students.
4. After being conducted the PBIL, students express their multi-performance in their project works, such as report, recreation, drama, performance. Students marshal the story of constellation and knowledge, convert their conceiving into productions. Their project works show their special opinions and characteristic.
