Currently, the time reference used by an e-commerce service system provided by standalone clocks. Therefore, users will are often skeptical about the accuracy of time value attached for each event. On the other way, although trusted and accurate standard time is maintained by the National Standand Time and Frequency Laboratory with costly equipments, it is not practical to provide fremendous amount of e-commerce transactions directly. For these reasons, a hierarchical trusted time-source architecture to derive from National Standard Time and Frequency Laboratory the standard time values is implemented and its security feature are discuessed in this thesis. In order to make users trust the time value from every time application servers as from the National Standard Time and Frequency Laboratory, the mechansim of proxy signature is used by the NMI server to delegate every time application server sign the provided time values, the Biba security policy is enforced on the TMC servers in order to protect the integrity of time values, and multiple audit mechanisms are employed to prevent each server from fraud.
