Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 工業教育學系在職進修碩士班 === 93 === ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to know exactly the computer literacy of the students in the mechanical engineering department of industrial vocational high school and to explore some related factors causing their different performances in computer literacy. The results of the research could be used to provide suggestions as references to enhance students’ computer literacy. Literature review was first conducted to understand the content of computer literacy. Then, after the examination of experts and a pilot test, a questionnaire was created as the research main tool. And then, sampling students in the mechanical engineering department to fill out the questionnaires in order to explore the factors of where the school is, what department and grade the students are in, and other relater factors. The questionnaires were answered by forty-eight mechanical engineering classes of 16 public and private industrial vocational high schools. The 924 questionnaires responded were effective, accounting for 77% of the total questionnaires mailed. To achieve the result, statistic analytical methods including means, standard deviation, t-test, and one-way ANOVA were applied. The results are in the following. Ⅰ、The schools location are of great significance. The students who study in the northern part of Taiwan had better performances than those who study in the southern part and eastern part of Taiwan. And the students who study in the middle part of Taiwan also had better performances than those who study in the eastern part of Taiwan. Ⅱ、The students of different departments show a significant difference in computer literacy. Public schools students are superior to those in private schools in computer literacy. Ⅲ、The students of different grades show a great difference in computer literacy. The senior are superior to the sophomore and the freshmen, and the sophomore are superior to the freshmen in computer literacy. Ⅳ、The students of related computer clubs performed better in the computer literacy than those of non-computer clubs. Ⅴ、The students who have computers at home had better performances in computer literacy than those who have no computers at home. Ⅵ、The students who have Internet access at home had better performances in computer literacy than those who have no Internet access. Ⅶ、The students who have the computer instructor had better performances in computer literacy than those who have no computer instructor. Ⅷ、The students who spent more than two hours doing their homework had better performances in computer literacy than those who didn’t use computers to do their homework. Ⅸ、The students who spent more than eight hours surfing the net to do their homework had better performances in computer literacy than those who didn’t get on the net to do their homework. Ⅹ、The students who spent more than four hours playing online games had better performances in computer literacy than those who didn’t play online games. ⅩⅠ、The students who spent more than four hours chatting with their netpals had better performances in computer literacy than those who didn’t chatting with their netpals. According to the results obtained, suggestions could be provided for the authorities concerns, schools, computer instructors, students’ parents, and some researchers.
