Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 教育經營與管理研究所 === 93 === The main purposes of this study were as follows:
1. Analyzing the differences of the after-school learning and vocational interest influenced by different gender, grade, socioeconomic status and parental expectation.
2. Exploring the relationship between the types of the after-school learning and vocational interest.
3. Understanding the predictions of occupational types influenced by gender, grade, socioeconomic status and parental expectation.
4. According to the study results, suggestions were presented for career guidance education.
The questionnaire survey was adopted. By means of the random sampling, 715 students were chosen from the fifth and sixth grade in primary schools in Kaohsiung and Tainan as the objects of the study. The instruments used in the study were “The Elementary School Students’ Perception of Parents’ Expectation Inventory”, “After-School Learning Inventory”, and “Vocational Interest Inventory”. The data was analyzed by one-way MANOVA, chi-square test, and stepwise multiple regression.
The results of the study were as follows:
1. The difference of the after-school learning influenced by different gender, grade, socioeconomic status, and parental expectation.
(1) There were differences between the boys and the girls in the “calculation- reading-writing” and “dance-music” types of the after-school learning. The girls got higher scores than the boys.
(2) There were differences between the fifth grade students and the sixth grade students in the “dance-music” type of the after-school learning. The fifth grade students got higher scores than the sixth grade students.
(3) The students of the high socioecomonic status got higher scores than the students of the middle and low socioecomonic status.
(4) The students of high parental expectation got higher scores than the students of the middle and low parental expectation.
2. The difference of the vocational interest influenced by different gender, grade, socioeconomic status, and parental expectation.
(1) There were differences between the boys and the girls in vocational interest. The boys got higer scores in the “Realistc” and“Investigative” types, and the girls got higher scores in the “Artistic” and “Conventional” types.
(2) There were differences between the fifth grade and the sixth grade students in the six types of vocational interest, and the fifth grade students got higher scores than the sixth grade students.
(3) There were differences among the high, middle and low socioeconomic status in vocational interest. The students of low socioeconomic status got higher scores than the ones of high and middle socioeconomic status.
(4) There were differences among the high, middle and low parental expectation in “Artistic”, “Enterprising” and “Conventional” types. The students of the high parental expectation got higher scores than the ones of the middle and low parental expectation.
3. The after-school learning and vocational interest were significant correlated.
4. The different gender, grade, parental expectaion and after-school learning can predict the vocational interest, but socioeconomic status can’t.
According to the above results of my study, some suggestions were made for career guidance education and future research.
