Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 資訊教育研究所 === 93 === As the technology is getting better, learning for children is no longer limited to the classroom. As the Internet has become broader known, it has become part of our life. Under the circumstance of wireless Internet, mobile learning has become the trend of learning for children. The main objective of the experiment is to see the effects of mobile project-based learning on elementary school. The design of the experiment is based on " To Know the Plants in School," a chapter in Natural Science. In this experiment, personal digital assistant (PDA) is used as a tool for the sample group. Two classes of fifth grade students in Tainan Yong-Kang elementary school are chosen as the sample for the experiment. Each class is divided into six groups and each group contains five students. The students in sample 1 are students using PDA to record observations and to communicate with each other about the plants. The students in sample 2 are students recording information without Personal digital assistant and communicating when they meet. Both samples needed to use the computer in the computer room to record the final data and create a final assessment. The experiment lasts for a month. Students meet up and have class three to four times each week in the period of time for the experiment. The final product is given to and graded by five experts to see whether PDA helps students in learning or not. The score of the students in sample 1 is found to be significantly better than the students in sample2. Also the work of the students in sample 1 are more abundant and meaningful than work of the students in sample 2. This experiment has proven that mobile learning helps elementary students in learning.
