Following the civilization’s development in science and technology, the time of digital information is now arriving and the“ Science Fiction for Youth” has become a new type of modern treasured juvenile fiction. It extends their imagination and influences their psychological growth as well as cultivates science recognition. A brand new page has opened for children’s literature in Taiwan. The content of this study has six chapters: (1) Introduction: describes study motivation, scope and method, its limitations and literature research; (2) Description: explains the origin, definition, element and features of “Science Fiction for Youth ”and analyze them respectively; (3)Culture significance: discusses relevant themes of cultural phenomena, humanistic thinking and different views of the universe; (4) Cultural Studies: cultural studies concerns study tools and methods. Nation, gender, and class are used to develop the possibility of “Science Fiction for Youth” in Taiwan, so that to develop statement directions of interdisciplinarity, postmodernism and globalization.; (5) Cultural Operation: studies the assignment of educational functions and “popular understanding of science” as well as the present status in Taiwan and the relation between cultural operation and capability for beauty appreciation; (6) Conclusion: starts from the dialectic of “science ”and “fiction ”to research“ humanistic concern ”and the“ ideology ”of “Science Fiction for Youth ”in Taiwan.
