Therefore, how to effectively enchance the efficiency and benefits of facility systems in each key point from facility construction planning to operating maintenance management and then, to keep 100 % facility systems up time with high quality supply to fully support semiconductor fabrication production have become crucial for each semicontor company to get high profit and maintain competitive advantages. Based on the existing fabs, the effective economic operation efficiency period for one wafer fab will be around 15 years. In the meantime, every fab director will do his best through all the means to reduce the cost of production and enhance the competency. Thus, facility service outsourcing is becoming one of the major strategies to reduce facility manpower to achieve the target of production cost reduction in these years.
This study aims to propose a Total Facility Service solution and conduct a case study in Semiconductor Industry to solid study existing facility operation status and actual facility service outsourcing need. Morevore, this thesis reviews and integrates existing besiness strategies of outsourcing vendors and then compares the differences in facility service outsourcing between companies in Taiwan and those in other countries. Therefore, we propose a framework of Total Facility Service and discuss its details. The results of this thesis will be able to facilitate facility service outsourcing business to quickly become a new service industry. Besides, in the stage of Semiconductor industry steps into high competetiveness with low profit, this study will help and achieve the Win-Win colloaboration between Semiconductor Companies and Outsourcing vendors.
