Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立清華大學 === 電機工程學系 === 93 === Nowadays, the operation voltage of a chip is different from that of off-chip circuits. To generate difference voltages for off-chip and on-chip circuits, voltage converters are required. In this thesis, the Switched-Capacitor (SC) voltage converter and linear regulator are designed for this purpose. The SC converter is applied to driving LEDs which act as a photoflash. A high voltage larger than 3 V is boosted to turn on LEDs. The LED lightness is controlled by the driving current. In addition, a linear regulator with a better load transient response and less noise is also proposed. It provides a precise and stable power supply to VCO. All designed circuits are fabricated by TSMC 0.35 慆 and UMC 0.18 慆 CMOS processes. The measured output voltage of the LED driver is 4 ~ 4.3 V in 0.35 um process and 3 ~ 3.5 V in 0.18 慆 process. The measured output voltage of the linear regulator is 2.4 V ± 150 mV in 0.35 慆 process and 1.8V ± 130 mV in 0.18 慆 process.
