Thus, much more people now enjoy their leisure time by the multimedia materials in computers. The more requirements of the multimedia materials there are, the more number of the files occupy the hard disk is. Thereupon, some problem about the management of the multimedia files arising that people may comprehend the mainly annoying problem that they don’t know where the file they wanted is saved and even may not know if such file exists in the computer. In another aspect of the human-computer interface, the interfaces on each computer screen arranged by the original setup of your operation system are almost the same currently. The searching time of the objective files may be long due to the bad design of the human computer interface. In addition, the use of digital camera is very common today. Hundreds of the digital photos taken in the travel or party can be reached easily, and it would result in problems. Therefore, this research will focus on one part of the digital multimedia materials, the management of the digital images. Another key reason for choosing this case is that the size of movie files is much larger than digital images, so the number of movie files won't be as large as the number of digital images. This research is mainly to build up the Digital Image Files Management Supported System (DIFMSS) to help users to manage their digital images easily and search out the objective images quickly almost without thinking and memorizing. The system is constructed mainly by three approaches, the labeled-classifying techniques, graphical user interface (GUI), and the operating procedure approximate to the user behavior. The labeled-classifying techniques can classify the digital images files in many aspects by means of the files themselves to support users managing their files definitely. GUI can make the user interface friendly and easy to use. The operating procedure approximate to the user behavior can comply with the human cognitive process when managing the files. Twenty graduate students of National Tsing-Hua University participated in the experiments. Through the experiment, the effect of the number of the digital image files on classifying task and the searching task their management were investigated, and the subjective opinions were collected by the questionnaires. Although the digital image files in the experiment were not plenty enough to get significant results, it was found that in a large number of the digital image files, DIFMSS does provide users a valuable tool which is meaningful, efficient, and easy to use by the clues from the experimental data and the questionnaires. Compared with the edition 7.0 of ACDSee, the classifying function and the searching function of DIFMSS conform to users’ requirements especially in managing a large number of digital image files. The interface of DIFMSS is friendlier than the edition 7.0 of ACDSee, and users make more mistakes in the edition 7.0 of ACDSee. Pro. Sheue-Ling Hwang 黃雪玲 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 94 en_US
