Summary: | 碩士 === 臺中師範學院 === 教育測驗統計研究所 === 93 === The main purpose of this study is to design and establish an on-line evaluation system which is constructed on the World Wide Web for providing an efficient evaluation tool for elementary school. The system is combined with the integration of assessment theories, internet technology, and database management. In order to verify the applicability of the system, teachers and the students in the elementary school have been asked to be the probationary objects to carry on system's trying out. In addition, an experience questionnaire survey also have been carried out to discuss users’ reaction and to exam the efficiency of the system.
The system has the following main functions:
1.Additional new items are allowed to add into the item banks of the system. Therefore, the test paper can be renewed and modified in users’ convenience.
2.The system will show the limitation and reminder of time.
3.The immediate analysis of test results. Users can easily inquire the test results of individuals and the whole class, the distribution of grades in a class, instant analysis of items, on-line forum…etc.
The system also has the following characteristics:
1.Simple and efficient: Teacher can edit and arrange a test paper fast and efficiently. Test paper can be examinated in advance.
2.Students can use the sample test paper as homework for practice and self-evaluation.
3.Analysis of item difficulty and item discrimination of a test paper.
4.Teachers can easily overview the result of the test. The system will show every student who make the wrong answer in every single item.
5.The traditional written test also can be put into the system and get the analysis of items.
6.The item banks based on item categories, various difficulties of items, and Competence Indicators. The test papers will satisfy all the needs from teachers and students.
7.The system will increase the utilization of the test paper. The test papers will be easy to be kept and reviewed.
The system was opened and tested by two hundred and ten fifth grade students and thirty five teachers on line. The operation is smooth and fast. It proves that this system can be applied in elementary schools and on the internet. According to the result of the survey from all the users, the conclusions as follow can be made:
1.Most students are positive to do the on-line test.
2.In comparison between written test and online test, most students have positive views on the online test.
3.Most students are positive toward the functions or designs of this system.
4.Most teachers agree that this system is easy to be operated and applied.
5.Most teachers are satisfied and positive toward the usages of this system.
6.Most teachers also express their great satisfaction at the various functions of this system.
7.Most teachers are considering to use this system as their assistant tool for teaching in the future.
According to the result of this study, there are some suggestions for the other related studies in the future.
