The results may serve as a valuable reference for education agencies, schools and parents who are pushing forward their involvement in school administration decision. This study is conducted through document analysis and questionnaire survey. A customized questionnaire sheet, ‘Parents’ Involvement in Primary School Administration Decision in Taichung City’ designed by myself, is used as the research tool in obtaining pertinent data from the parents and teachers of public schools in Taichung. A total of 990 valid responses are obtained from the survey. These data are then closely analyzed through vigorous statistical methods, which are naming, percentage, average, t-test, chi-square test, one-way ANOVA, while keeping the significance level at α= 0.05. The conclusions drawn from the research are as followed: 1. The current situation of the volition and ability of the parental involvement in school administration decision shows medium degree. 2. By all accounts, the willingness and ability of parents in school administration decision in Taichung City are distinctive. 3. Teachers'' awareness of the volition and ability of parents’ involvement in school administration decision comes to medium degree in Taichung City. 4. By all accounts, there are differences among teachers in Taichung City on the awareness of the volition and ability of parents’ involvement in school administration decision. 5. The willingness of parents’ involvement in school administration decision is more than the ability of theirs in Taichung City. 6. There are differences between the ways parents are actually participating in school administration decision and the ideal ways which teachers are concerning about. Based on the findings and conclusions above, workable measures and recommendations are proposed in this study for education administrators, schools, parents of pupils and further studies.
