The Effect of MCAL in National Skill Testing for Care Giver Skills

碩士 === 國立屏東科技大學 === 技術及職業教育研究所 === 93 === The purpose of this survey is to evaluate the effect of Multimedia Computer Assisted Learning (MCAL) for care giver skill testing. A DVD of CAL has been designed and adopted as the study tool. 20 students in the Department of Early Childhood Education (Two-Year Advanced College program)who intended to participate in National skill testing for the child care giver in 2004 were recruited. They were randomly assigned to either an experimental group or a control group, of each included ten participators. A quasi-experiment research design was used for this study. The experimental group and the control group separately had ten subjects. The experimental group were given the program of MCAL while the control group were given the program of the traditional skill learning. SPSS 10.0 for Windows was used to analyze these data which included descriptive statistics, Independent t-test, one sample t-test, ANCOVA (analysis of covariance), chi-square, and Pearson''s correlation. The results are shown below: 1. The experimental group had higher scores in National skill testing than the control group. However there are no significances. 2. The experimental group had a significant increase in post-program practice time than the control group. 3. The experimental group had a significant increase in their skill operative rate in National skill testing than the control group. 4. In the experimental group, the scores of the content in the section of improving the accuracy about the skill after MCAL were 4.64. 5. The scores of the National skill testing had a positive correlation with the post-program practice times and the content level of about program learning, and had a negative correlation with the skill operative rate in testing. However there were no significances. 6. The MCAL can arouse a motivation for learning, increase the learning or the accuracy of skill operations, and improve the effect of learning. Thus, the CAL is a good tool not only in skill training but also in associated professionalism.
