In exp.1, 320 commercial Arbor Acres broiler chicks were randomly allotted into 4 treatments and 2 replicates for both male and female. There were 20 birds in each pen. The 4 treatment groups were basal diet, basal diet plus 500 ppm/1000 ppm saccharicterpenin and basal diet plus antibiotics. In exp.2, 360 commercial Arbor Acres broiler chicks were randomly allotted into 3 treatment groups and 2 replicates for both male and female. There were 30 birds in each pen. The 3 treatment groups were basal diet, basal diet plus 500 ppm saccharicterpenin and basal diet plus antibiotics. Feed and water were supplied ad libitum. Vaccination program was applied and ND (Newcastle disease) titer was tested. The results in exp.1, indicated that the supplementation of saccharicterpenin at 500 and 1000 ppm reduced feed intake at 11.2 and 22.9 % (P<0.05) and reduced body weight gain at 16.2 and 27.6 % accordingly, also increased the feed conversion ratio (F/G) at 2.0 and 4.6 %, respectively, the mortality rate was also increased. In exp.2, compare the 500 ppm saccharicterpenin supplementation group with the control and antibiotic groups. Feed intake was decreased by 5.2 and 6.5 %, body weight gain was decreased by 6.4 and 9.4 %, the feed/gain ratio was increased by 2.2 and 3.8 %, the mortality was also increased. The overall results showed that, the supplementation of 500 or 1000 ppm saccharicterpenin would significantly decrease feed intake and body weight, increase feed/gain ratio and mortality. No effect on ND titer response was detected. How-Hong Hsieh 謝豪晃 2005 學位論文 ; thesis 106 zh-TW |
