In addition to severe market competition of large-size panel products, there still exist issues such as production technology advancement, brand positioning, capacity expansion, yield rate improvement, and satisfaction of consumer variety requirement. The key for productivity and benefit improvements relies on the optimal design of integrated sales and production planning. This implies that major issues, such as choices of customers’ orders, utilization of most economic cutting plan of substrates, and resource (production lines and machines) allocation should be considered integratedly to achieve highest profit margin goal. The focus of the research is to derive a plan to produce and sell with maximum profits considering external/internal resource constraints (such as, economic cutting plan, yield rates, production capacity, production equipment) of different-generation plants, raw material supply limitation, and enterprise goal. Linear programming model is applied to establish the decision model. The result can provide the suggestions as to what product for which customer should be made on which production line in which plant. In the case study, LINGO software is used to obtain the optimal plan by applying real manufacturing and sales data. It shows that profit can be increased by around 25% compared to current situation. Even though relaxing dynamic schedule constraints from our research, significant improvement is still be expected. In the meantime, by applying sensitivity analysis, improvement strategies can be investigated. The results of the study can be of a great help for the liquid crystal display industry for future global competition. Tsan-Hwan Lin 林燦煌 2004 學位論文 ; thesis 99 zh-TW
