information through the Internet. A good multicast video transmission system plays an
important role in smoothly transmit multimedia information from video server to
multiple clients. In addition , the system are designed for the purpose of constructing
the framework for distance learning. Thus, the real-time and QoS requirement of
multimedia communication is remain challenge in the designing of multicast video
transmission systems.
Considering the efficiency usage, we propose a multicast algorithm based on the
well-known binary search tree structure. In this thesis, the intelligent agents, which
are proved to be self-contained, are used to construct the proposed
application-oriented multicast transmission framework. In order to maintain the states
of agents, we use XML technology as the standard communication interface for
agents. The states of agents to maintain include the time of log in and log out, and the
index of currently browsed. Furthermore, a fast loss recovery mechanism with the
aims of meeting the QoS requirement is also proposed.
Experimental results show that the proposed multicast algorithm method is
effective and superior to other in terms of overall computational complexity.
