We add P-25 Titanium dioxide (TiO2) to Trichloroethylene (TCE) to reach the effect of microwave-photocatalytic and then disscuss if it is practicable to remove TCE and the remove effect. Also, apply the Langmuir-Hinshelwood equation to calculate constant of the reaction rate (K). In addition, we synthesize nano-scale Cu/TiO2 powder by sol-gel method and compare the treatment effect with the former one. We experiment under different microwave method, power, and the photocatalyst amount. The result appeared that the effect raises when we use more power and more photocatalyst amount. However, the effect is not obvious when the photocatalyst amount is more than 0.02g. When P-25 TiO2 = 0.01 g , K = 0.0102 sec-1. When P-25 TiO2 = 0.02 g , K = 0.0173 sec-1. When P-25 TiO2 = 0.05 g , K = 0.0180 sec-1. When Cu/TiO2 = 0.01 g , K = 0.0189 sec-1. According to Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) observation, photocatalyst surface will not be destroyed after experiment. According to X-Ray Powder Diffractometer (XRD) observation,P-25 TiO2, man-made TiO2 and Cu/TiO2 have Anatase and Rutile crystal lattice. The major crystal lattice is Anatase.
