Summary: | 碩士 === 南華大學 === 出版事業管理研究所 === 93 === The purpose of publication, whose text can be disseminated and spread all over, is not only for making profits but also for dissemination, civilization, enlightenment, setting up classics, and so on. As far as the publication of poetry is concerned, the said purposes are especially and evidently shown in the practice of deciding on poetic subject matters.
This research shows that the quantity of publishing poetic periodicals has been decreasing since the Post-Martial Law Era came. Poetic periodicals were seldom founded in or after the Post-Martial Law Era, which meant that the poets of the new generation had much less aspiration for establishing poetic periodicals than those before or in the Martial Law Era. With the rise of diversified values and the rise of network and media after the Martial Law Era, the wave among poets of joining poetic clubs or founding poetic periodicals began to decline.
This research comes to the conclusion as follows:
a. In the Post-Martial Law Era, the process of deciding on the subject matters in publishing poetic periodicals tended to be unitary. It was significantly evident that the editing authority was highly centered on the chief editors. Committees of the editing board did not efficiently or properly work. New breed poetic periodicals apparently displayed their characteristic individualism, and was thus often arrogated and monopolized. Poetic periodicals history of running over 30 years inclined to be old-fashioned and steady, making no difference in creativity in planning and editing. Most junior editors did not dare to be impetuous subject to the current idealism and to the ethical order of the poetic arena.
b. In the strategy of deciding on poetic subject matters, poetic clubs realistically considered and cared for the presentation of poetic aesthetic as well as the linkage between social change and the role-play of poetic clubs and thus tended to set up classics.
c. The literary dissemination of poetic periodicals, which is confined in group communication of literati, should be combined with media effectively in order to enhance exposure and should avoid narrow-mindedness and exclusiveness so as to greatly promote popularity and marketing.
