Abstract
probing into the value and pragmatics system between two races, Atayal and Minnan, from the contrast of their cultivation culture, this research hope to shows a more efficient way of communication and mutual understanding for the two races, especially while the Minnan teacher proceeds their educational process on the Atayal children in need of a close interaction with their parents.
By the discoveries of differences between the expectation of a Minnan teacher and the behavior of aboriginal students under education as well as the cultivation recognition of their parents which influences the forming of a child’s personality, this paper hopes offers a base for the three to have a beneficial dialogue and to make necessary adjustment on their expectation and cooperation so that the distance inherited from cultural difference could be minimized. In the long run, the three of them together reach a more successful and acceptable educational achievement. The aboriginal students could only take their courses happily under appropriate mutual understanding and expectance from their Minnan teachers. The conceptual conflict will descend from cultural differences becoming an obstacle in the way between the teacher and parents could be only moved away by a correct mutual understanding on the two cultures. These findings possess educational significance and is likely to help release the pressure on both sides, thus favor the students’ school learning development.
The researcher design a questionnaire with three categories of varieties of situations to evaluate the differences between Minnan and Atayal children and parents on their cultivation concepts. The study is forcused on three points. They are focused on, first, how parents they view the children’s schoolwork and their performance, second, the actual behavior of children themselves apart from school influence, third, the interaction between children and their parents. Altogether 14 different items of situations included. Through situation analysis and the reply content analysis(the analyses of speech-reporting in different situations and the reply content ), it shows that different way (the ross-cultural)of life and value system will accordingly influence the attitude, expectances and ways of cultivation towards their next generation.
