Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立新竹教育大學 === 進修部輔導教學碩士班 === 93 === The objective of the present study is to understand the interactive correlations between personality, interpersonal relationship and attitude towards forgiveness in elementary school teachers. A total of 975 teachers were recruited from every elementary school in Taipei area through stratified sampling and purposive sampling. The study outcomes were yielded from analyses such as t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, and multiple stepwise regression analysis. The study revealed that there is a significant positive correlation between personality and interpersonal relationship, whilst no significant correlation was found between personality and attitude towards forgiveness, as well as between interpersonal relationship and attitude towards forgiveness. In addition, both personality and interpersonal relationship do not serve as predictor variables for attitude towards forgiveness. As regarding the background variables, no significant difference was found in attitude towards forgiveness in terms of gender, religion, age and level of education. Lastly, over half of the teachers felt badly hurt when being treated unfairly. The lesser the hurt was, the better the attitude towards forgiveness would be. According to the findings and the conclusion of the study, it is recommended that schools can hold more seminars concerning topics such as self-directed search, social interaction or emotion expressing. At the same time, the strengthening of the contacts between the parents, teachers and students is also recommended, lest conflict will occur due to ill communications. Moreover, since there have not been many researches conducted regarding forgiveness in Taiwan, future studies including other types of objects for the study’s comprehensiveness may yield more precise and inferential study results. Additionally, aside from by surveys, further in-depth analyses by means of observation, interviews, or case studies will result in studies of forgiveness with higher quality and quantity.
