When there were weddings, birthday and temple fairs, there would be Pak-koán Baing in the agriculture era. Therefore, to make it practicable to teach students and let them know as well as cherish the traditional music is the most important thing. This research is to know the implementation of Pak-koán Baing in Nan-Ho elementary school for past 11 years (1994~2005). This research also analyzes the method and choice of Pak-koán Baing teaching by artists in Nan-Ho elementary school. Furthermore, this research investigates the problems of Pak-koán Baing as a teaching materials. This research adopted the method of case study. The objects are the Pak-koán Baing musical group of Nan-Ho elementary school. The interview includes school principal and related persons including teachers and students. The purpose is to know their motives. This research provides the solution and strategy of improvement to those who are interested in Pak-koán Baing From the research, the conclusions are as follows, When artists teach, they don’t confine to single method or traditional oral instruction. Instead, they develop the method suitable for Nan-Ho school referring experts’ opinions, such as lecturing, demonstrating, practicing and action etc. The choice of teaching materials is based on the students’ ability. When students perform instruments, they should focus on the methods such as relax practice, reviewing the past and slower speed. Students can realize the value of cooperation, rich their relationship and find out the meanings of life through performing together. The success of native music instruction are the philosophy of administration, professional teachers, plenty fund and enthusiastic people. Based on above conclusion, the suggestions are: To provide the opportunities for teachers to pursue further education, and cultivate the ability of native music education and design of courses. Those can improve their professions and knowledge. Administrators should broadly establish native music related and design of courses to cultivate instruction. Native music instruction can integrate with history workroom and householders to make students apply to ordinary life and to know the value of native music. Those can promote people’s culture and respect or protect native music. School administrators should know the value of native music and equip the good concept and realization of native music.
