Questionnaires were conducted to 212 directors, and SPSS 10 was adopted for analysis. The major conclusions were: 1. The job stress lies between “seldom perplex” and “somewhat harassments”. Moreover, among all the stress causes, “overburden” and “lack of professionalism” perplexed the directors most. 2. The frequency of coping strategies used was between “sometimes” and “frequently”. The directors frequently used the strategy of “seeking supports”, then used “rational thinking”, “problem solving”, and “emotion adjustment” to address the stress. 3. Directors with different seniority significantly differ in their “professional knowledge”. 4. The coping strategies used by the directors were significantly different among those from different school locations. 5. Those with different stress perception tend to use different coping strategies, and the strategy of “rational thinking” was often used by those with lower stress perceptions.
